Support for families

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, our bereavement support practitioners are currently working remotely and bereavement support is being offered by telephone or digital means. Support is offered free of charge to bereaved families.

Booked Telephone Support

We can offer Booked Telephone Support appointments for:

  • parents whose baby or child of any age has died
  • parents whose baby or child of any age is approaching the end of their life
  • parents/carers supporting children or young people (up to age 25), if someone close to them is not expected to live, or has died.

For more information see Booked Telephone Support or call our freephone Helpline 0800 02 888 40 (Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm).

Groups for young people

These are groups for bereaved young people aged 11-25 via video platform where they can get to know others who have had similar experiences, and do something positive to support their wellbeing and each other. Activities and projects may include: games, art, crafts, music, and looking at ways to help to tackle any feelings of loneliness and build resilience, as well as developing tools to help others in similar situations. Young people are able to access this group without receiving 1:1 support.  We do not currently have a group in Glasgow but hope to have one soon.

Please call our Helpline on 0800 02 888 40 to make a referral for support. This allows a young person to have an initial 1-1 session so they can express interest in a group, discuss options for joining a group and receive further 1-1 support.

Support for professionals

We can support the work that teachers and other professionals are undertaking with bereaved children or young people, offering resources, guidance and support and bereavement awareness training. Call us to discuss how we can help you.

Support for schools

We offer online or telephone guidance and support for education professionals working with bereaved pupils, as well as a range of free resources and webinars  designed for early years, primary, secondary and further/higher education.
