Get involved Volunteer with us Volunteer at a festival Festival Volunteering FAQs Thank you for volunteering with Child Bereavement UK. By generously giving your time to volunteer with us you’re making a real difference, helping to support our work with bereaved children, young people and families. We will send a full volunteer briefing to you via email before the event, but some FAQs are listed below. If you have any other questions please email: [email protected]. Arrival, tickets, and re-entry Volunteers are welcome to attend the whole event. Please note, we do not send tickets for entry. Just report to the main entrance and ask for the event leader from Child Bereavement UK whose details will be included in your pre-event email. You will be signed in and we simply ask that you return to the volunteering tent 15 minutes before your start time, so we can brief you with your shift group. Please note that the festival organisers operate a no re-entry policy. Volunteer t-shirts T-shirts will be given out on the day of the event when you arrive for your shift. The size we provide will be the size you requested when registering with us. If you need to change this for any reason, there are a small number of spare t-shirts on the day but please email us asap if possible so we can prepare this for you ahead of the event. Belongings Volunteers are welcome to leave bags/coats etc in the volunteering tent but please be aware there is limited space and that items are left at your own risk. Valuable items should be kept with you at all times. Children and additional volunteers Details on whether children can attend with an adult volunteer are available on the event pages on our website, please note that some of our festivals and concerts are 18+ only. Feel free to confirm with our volunteering team ahead of the event. At events where children can attend with a volunteering adult, we operate a ratio of 1 adult to 1 child. These are busy events and we ask that volunteers keep this in mind when bringing children. Children attend at your own risk and must always remain with their responsible adult. If you know another adult who would like to attend and volunteer with you, they need to be registered with us in advance of the event. Unregistered volunteers will not be accepted at the gate. Refreshments We are not able to supply refreshments to volunteers. Please feel free to bring soft drinks and snacks with you for your shift or you can purchase food and drink from vendors at the event. There are also water bottle refill stations at the event. Volunteers are not permitted to drink alcohol on shift/when wearing their charity volunteer t-shirt. Travel and parking Please visit the festival organiser’s website for travel information. Where possible, we will include travel information in your pre-event email. Unfortunately, we are unable to pay travel expenses for volunteers. Thank you again for your support, we look forward to seeing you soon! Manage Cookie Preferences
