Never before has the work of our charity been so needed. The consequences of the coronavirus crisis and associated Government restrictions for bereaved family members and the professionals who support them are huge. Child Bereavement UK is supporting those directly impacted by COVID-19, as well as those bereaved by other causes of death who are facing disproportionate challenges as a result of the pandemic. We are seeking a Director of Fundraising (maternity cover) to ensure that our income keeps pace with the growing need for support for children, young people and families who are facing the devastation of bereavement.

It is therefore a remarkable time for an inspirational individual to join Child Bereavement UK, who can provide visionary and strategic leadership across established and developing areas of income generation to support our operations, projects, service delivery and plans for growth, as well as contributing to the overall strategic direction and operational efficiency of the organisation as part of its Senior Management Team.

To do this well, you will be an exceptional leader who will be comfortable creating and driving forward a compelling approach to fundraising that increases voluntary income and diversifies income streams to deliver sustainable growth of the charity’s services, with a particular focus on the development of income generated from corporate relationships.

This is a unique opportunity for an impressive fundraising professional who has strong strategic and leadership experience combined with hands-on experience of implementing fundraising activities. We are looking for a talented individual with a proven track record of success in developing and delivering fundraising plans across a broad range of funding streams, who exhibits credibility and creativity coupled with commitment and sensitivity to our cause.

In return, you will be working for an incredible cause with amazing, dedicated supporters and will be welcomed into our friendly and team-playing Fundraising Team, which was awarded the Institute of Fundraising Chiltern’s Fundraising Team of the Year for its work during the pandemic.
