Distance: 26.2 Miles | Registration Fee: £50 | Fundraising Target: £500

Brighton dedicates one weekend a year to hold several running events for those of all abilities. With Brighton being the second largest marathon within the UK with 12,000 participants taken part and well over 150,000 supporters cheering people on, it’s a great event to get involved with.

The course starts in Preston Park, snakes its way through the city centre, along the glorious seafront and finishes at the iconic Madeira Drive in front of thousands of cheering spectators.  Non-racing wheelchair users are welcome to take part, however the race organisers currently do not offer elite wheelchair races or allow self-propelled racing wheelchairs.

Every mile you run and every penny you raise will support our work rebuilding lives.

Why Child Bereavement UK?

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying. We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

When you fundraise for us, you’ll receive:

  • a welcome email & fundraising pack from our events team
  • a charity running vest to wear on the day with iron on letters
  • support from our dedicated fundraising & events team to achieve your target
  • e-newsletters updating you with news throughout the charity
  • access to our online Facebook group, where other fundraisers share training and fundraising advice

Running through Brighton, past its landmarks but mostly the sea views made it a special day. However, the most rewarding aspect of running was knowing that I had fund raised for Child Bereavement UK.

Wilfred ran the Brighton Marathon and raised £1,725 for Child Bereavement UK
