Snowdrop Walk Volunteer 5 February | West Wycombe Park, Buckinghamshire | 3.5 hours Expand The Snowdrop Walk is a special day for families to remember someone important to them who has died by planting a snowdrop in memory. The aim of the day is to provide a family-friendly day for bereaved families while also raising funds for Child Bereavement UK. We are looking for personable volunteers who are happy to work a three and half hour shift indoors or outdoors at the event. There are several volunteering roles including: stewarding; selling snowdrops; selling and preparing refreshments; and running stalls in West Wycombe Village Hall. Bereavement Services Event Volunteer February to August | Glasgow | Ad Hoc Expand Volunteers provide support and assistance us at various events throughout the year helping us to support bereaved parents and families in different ways. This includes helping with equipment, meeting and greeting at events, assisting at support groups, and more on an ad hoc basis. Volunteers support the staff members to facilitate events, ensuring parents and families have a valuable and rewarding experience. Volunteers will be directed by, and will remain with, the staff at all times. On arrival at events, volunteers will help staff set up the rooms/areas for the families. Once guests arrive volunteers help run the planned event. These are always led by staff, but volunteers support throughout and at the end of the day are expected to help clear away as required and participate in the debriefing session. Without volunteer support these events cannot be attended by as many families, so you will be very valued in this role by both staff and families. DepartmentBereavement Services TermsVolunteers must be able to attend some or all events in a six-month period between February and August 2023. Events are held both weekdays and at weekends depending on their nature. Volunteers must all attend a training day and are subject to an enhanced DBS, paid for Child Bereavement UK. BasedThe events take place in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Child Bereavement UK sites, as well as other local community venues. Join or form a Volunteer Fundraising Group Flexible dates, locations and volunteering time Expand Volunteer fundraising groups are a way for Child Bereavement UK supporters to come together and raise funds in aid of the charity. Fundraising groups can be formed by an individual with friends and family members or you can join an existing group. All groups require a minimum of three members. Groups meet at times and locations to suit group members and decide between them how they will fundraise. Groups will be supported by a Child Bereavement UK Volunteer Co-ordinator who will help the group become established and decide on group roles. This will include providing fundraising materials and merchandise such as collection buckets and wristbands, information about the charity, and ideas on how to make the most out of the group’s fundraising activities. Volunteer groups are an excellent way to collaborate with people in your area and utilise any ideas and skills you may have. Donation Tin Collector Volunteer Flexible dates, locations and volunteering time Expand We’re looking for warm and friendly volunteers to support Child Bereavement UK in their local area by asking businesses to display one or more of our collection tins. You will be working in our local community, helping raise awareness and funds for Child Bereavement UK. Collection tin volunteers will be supplied with kits containing collection tins, thank you cards, and everything you need to get started. As part of the role, you will find local businesses that are happy to help and register them, replace tins when they become full, and thank businesses on behalf of Child Bereavement UK by giving out certificates and thank you cards. You will bank any money collected and keep a record of where our tins are located, working closely with Child Bereavement UK’s Volunteer Co-Ordinator. Every collection tin counts as every penny donated makes a big difference to our work supporting bereaved families. BasedIn your local area/nationwide DepartmentVolunteering TermsFlexible volunteering hours. Collecting tins and paying in money may take you a couple of hours a week (on average) depending on how many tins you choose to distribute, and their locations. Tins will need replacing at different rates so will be done on an ad-hoc basis, rather than at set times and with set hours.
