Who we are:

SOBS Kirkcaldy Support Group is one in a network of national groups providing support to adults who have been bereaved by suicide. Volunteers come from all walks of life but nearly all have been affected by suicide themselves and this experience enables them to connect with others.

What we offer:

We are a self help organisation and we aim to provide a safe, confidential environment in which people can share their experiences and feelings, so giving and gaining support from each other. We also strive to improve public awareness and maintain contacts with many other statutory and voluntary organisations.

The Compassionate Friends (TCF)

The Compassionate Friends (TCF) is a charitable organisation of bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents dedicated to the support and care of other similarly bereaved family members who have suffered the death of a child or children of any age and from any cause. What we offer: The Compassionate Friends offers many different kinds of support for bereaved families. Whatever the cause of your loss, wherever you are in the UK, and whatever your circumstances – we are here to help.
Children's Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS)

At CHAS, children and young people with palliative care needs and their families are offered the opportunity to be cared for, respected and nurtured as individuals in an environment which offers rest and recuperation from the demands of caring. We support the whole family from referral to bereavement and beyond. The services we offer can be in one of our purpose built hospices, in the home or in hospital on a planned or emergency basis.

When your baby dies

When a baby lives only a short time or dies before birth due to miscarriage, stillbirth or a painful decision to end the pregnancy, people may assume that the loss is not important. This is simply not the case.
UK death & bereavement statistics

A parent of children under 18 dies every 22 minutes in the UK; around 23,600 a year. This equates to around 111 children being bereaved of a parent every day.
