We are looking for a personable volunteer who would enjoy working in our Philanthropy and Special Events team. As part of the team you would work on a variety of projects including virtual event development, in-person special events and our philanthropy projects. The role involves plenty of research and planning, and communicating with different stakeholders including suppliers and supporters. You will work in conjunction with the fundraising team to raise vital funds that support our work helping bereaved families.

Terms: The hours are flexible, ideally a minimum of 6 hours a week

Based: Home based.

Key activities:

  • Every day will be different. You will be working on a diverse portfolio of fundraising activities to help support our vital work.
  • You will be researching relevant and up-to-date information online to support with the development of new initiatives and improvement of existing fundraising activities
  • Maintain accurate records on the Raiser’s Edge database by regularly inputting tasks and data, and using the Event Management module
  • Researching and profiling of new and existing supporters
  • Sourcing of raffle and auction prizes for special events
  • Digital marketing of events
  • Data analysis

What you’ll get out of the experience

  • Knowledge of the charity sector and insight into how a small/medium sized charity operates, specifically within fundraising.
  • Training on and regular use of Raiser’s Edge, the industry standard CRM system
  • Experience in effective research
  • Experience in how to effectively plan, market and deliver successful fundraising events
