Who we are:

At CHAS, children and young people with palliative care needs and their families are offered the opportunity to be cared for, respected and nurtured as individuals in an environment which offers rest and recuperation from the demands of caring.

We support the whole family from referral to bereavement and beyond. The services we offer can be in one of our purpose built hospices, in the home or in hospital on a planned or emergency basis. Each of our hospices can accommodate up to eight babies, children and young people and their families.

What we offer:

We offer care in our two children’s hospices and through the CHAS at Home service.

The Family Support Team

We believe that it is important to offer support in a variety of ways and are always pleased to hear what help families need. We can provide:

  • One to one individual support
  • Regular group meetings
  • Opportunities for siblings to come together and meet others sharing a similar experience
  • Information and support to other families or professionals working with bereaved families in the community
  • Annual “remembering days” for families to celebrate their child’s life
  • Pre and post bereavement support
  • Counselling
  • Leaflets to help children and young people cope with the complex feelings when their sibling has died
