Course Objectives 

  • Gain an understanding of how babies and young children respond to loss, death and bereavement. 
  • Gain an understanding of the theories of loss and mourning in relation to babies and young children
  • Develop knowledge of practical strategies and gain greater confidence in supporting bereaved babies and young children, particularly in an early years setting
  • Gain awareness of information and resources that can support bereaved families and explore ways to look after ourselves and our colleagues 
  • Gain information about Child Bereavement UK, other support organisations and resources available

Who should attend?

Any professionals who come into contact with bereaved babies and young children in the course of their work, particularly those in an early years setting.

    £95. We would like to thank the Peace Hospice for providing the venue for this training day. Fees for participants include course materials, a CPD certificate of attendance, refreshments and light lunch.

      We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how it might affect them during training. Generally speaking, our training is not usually suited to anyone who has suffered a recent, significant personal loss or bereavement.
