Training Bookings Book training Supporting bereaved children and young people in care Book here This course will explore the experience of bereavement for children and young people in care and what is needed to support them in their grief. 1 October 2024: 10.00am - 13.00pm Who should attend? All those whose work brings them into contact with grieving children and young people in care, in whatever capacity. Learning outcomes You will: Gain an understanding of the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that accompany grief for children in care. Consider how the experience of children in care may be affected by bereavement. Develop knowledge of practical strategies and gain greater confidence in supporting bereaved children and young people. Consider particular challenges faced by unaccompanied minors/refugees. Identify ways of looking after yourself and recognise why this is important. Receive information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations, and resources available. Cost: £45 We encourage prospective participants to consider their own experience of loss and how it might affect them during training. Generally speaking, our training is not usually suited to anyone who has suffered a recent, significant personal loss or bereavement.
