Children & Young People with SEN: supporting them through grief Webinar 18 May 2021: 14.00 - 17.0015 June 2021: 10.00 - 13.00 This 3 hour interactive online workshop explores the experience of bereavement for children and young people with special educational needs, including autism, and will help equip professionals with the understanding and confidence to appropriately support them. Learning Outcomes You will: To gain an understanding of how children and young people experience, understand and respond to bereavement at different developmental levels To increase awareness of the additional challenges faced by bereaved children and young people with autism To develop confidence in providing support to, and communicating with, bereaved children and young people with Special Educational Needs and autism To increase awareness of our own needs when supporting bereaved children and young people with Special Educational Needs To gain information about Child Bereavement UK and other support organisations and resources available Who should attend? Generally speaking, our training is not usually suited to anyone who has suffered a recent, significant personal loss or bereavement.
